Our Doctors are NRCME Licensed to Perform DOT Physical Exams
The laws have changed. Prior to May 21, 2014, all physicians were able to perform commercial driver medical examinations (also referred to as DOT exams). To become a certified medical examiner physicians must now complete mandatory training and pass an examination to verify thorough knowledge of medical requirements for Commercial Drivers. Our physicians have completed all of these requirements and are credentialed to issue DOT medical certificates. Our doctors, and all other qualified medical examiners can be found on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) site.
DOT Physical Exam
Federal law requires a qualified medical examiner to complete your DOT physical form. Our San Antonio Doctors will review your health history and the medications you take on a regular basis. We will perform a physical exam that includes an eye test, neurological exam, blood pressure, and more. We will also perform an examination of your heart, lungs, eyes, throat, mouth and ears.
DOT medical certificates are issued for a variety of time periods with the longest certificate being valid for a 2 year period.
